This has to be some of the most amazing research I’ve ever seen – maybe because it combines both psychology and technology. Langlois & Roggman in 1990 did a study of how average faces – facial features composited among a population – became increasingly attractive as more faces were added to the composite. As far as I’ve read, they only went to 32 faces, but the composite (in my opinion, at least) was getting more attractive. So if we put all of the faces of everyone in the world together into a composite, what would happen…?
