Update (soon)

June 23, 2002

I did just about 10 hours of driving yesterday and pretty much explored everything there is to see Down East. I took +/- 140 pictures, so I’ll put some of them up soon.

By the way, you can now get to the blog by going http://blog.lighthouse.rackhost.net… shorter URL hopefully coming soon.

Kevin Rose and elephant toes

June 23, 2002

So the talk of Leoville lately has been that they will be changing the TSS set around some. Interestingly enough, that’s not the biggest news right now.

The biggest news does have to do with TSS, though. I’ve been trying off and on to find the blog of Kevin Rose, ya know, the guy who’s in the Nook on TSS, Rose Buddy’s buddy. 🙂 Anyway, I know I could’ve asked someone but I kinda like finding these things for myself. Anyway, point of the story: kevinrose.livejournal.com. He got a frickin’ LiveJournal. Wimp. 😉

Sure, I have a LJ, too; I pretty much use it so I don’t have to be called Anonymous on other peoples’ LJs. But c’mon, he’s gotta be a little more techie than that. At least run a Moveable Type one or something, sheesh. 🙂

PS: the Kevin/Morgan thing makes a lot of sense, seeing as how I’ve always noticed they really get along on the JibCam before the show.

Forget All Your Base… now it’s all about Elephant Toes. I don’t really want to spend the time figuring out how it all started (I might tomorrow, but who knows), but all-in-all it’s pretty much trying to get your site/blog to be the #1 listing in Google for ‘elephant toes’ by providing a bunch of links to your own site and naming the links ‘elephant toes’ or something like it. Ooh, there’s a way to foil Google! [gasp] Oh, well, I’m not the type of person to do these little fad things. I’ll just take my elephant toes and leave.

I think they’re telling me something

June 15, 2002

From this week’s Best Buy newspaper supplement:

…but just enjoy your life while you don’t have broadband, because after you get it, you won’t have one anymore. Trust me, I know.

Can you be too much of a geek?

So I’m staring at my iPhoto Library and see that I have 1394 pictures.

My first thought: FireWire!

More explore

June 10, 2002

I went on a nice, peaceful ride to Eddington to find a mountain today… and ended up in Ellsworth. I didn’t get lost; the urge to explore was just strong within me. I learned today though that old dirt roads don’t sound good when they hit the bottom of your car. [ripppppppp] Guess I’ll be more careful from now on. Check the Exploring section for pictures.

And to prove that I do in fact read e-mails about the site, I’m looking into making e-cards out of some or all of the pictures I put up in that section. We’ll see how that turns out. I’ll be coding all night. Or maybe sleeping. Who knows.

Love / hate relationship

June 9, 2002

Grrrrrr.

All signs seem to indicate that I can’t receive e-mail for some reason. Haven’t gotten a piece all day: no spam, no love letters… Anyway, I guess if you have anything urgent to send me, go through NiKnight3@yahoo.com for now. I just hope I didn’t miss any important e-mail today. [sigh]

In other news, I updated the site. Check out what I did on the New page. Tell me what you think.

Just to clarify

June 9, 2002

For any outta-statahs who might be a bit confused, no, we don’t grow lobstahs on faahms.

Babies!

June 8, 2002

I was even able to get a video (2.2 MB).

Car talk

June 5, 2002

So my laptop fan broke… so did my car, pretty much.

The sway bar on my car (I’ve had endless trouble with that) keeps getting out of alignment or whatever, and it’s a pain to always have it readjusted. They put a new one in yesterday, finally; it cost a bunch but hopefully the problem won’t come again. Add to that the fact that a crack in my windshield mysteriously appeared a few days ago; I went to Rice Glass and had a new one put in for $75. Thankfully, my car is hopefully all fixed up now for my trips this summer and my trip to Farmingdale on Friday for an orientation to Project GOALS.

Doing some switches

June 5, 2002

Now that I have some free time and I have my laptop back from having its fan repaired, I’ll be doing some changes to the site today and tomorrow. Nothing major, just some new material and a little different layout.

Meanwhile, look at what has made their home not more than three feet from my bedroom window. Hopefully we’ll have a lot more pics soon.
